Buying a used car

when you are thinking about buying a used car you really do have to think carefully about how you conduct your search. First of all the sensible option these days is to avoid buying something through your local paper. The fact is, this sort of market place does not offer you enough of a choice, and this can sometimes push the prices up, particularly for cars with some rarity value.

The best place to find Cars for sale is on the internet. There are many different ways to search for a second hand car online, but it is worthwhile avoiding the auction sites. You are in a dangerous position when bidding against other people for a car, and you can often end up spending more than your budget on something which is worth less than your budget. Find the sites which allow you to search within a certain price bracket for the make and model car that you want to buy, and you should find plenty of examples from which to choose. This is an excellent way to buy because it provides you with both choice, a chance to test drive, and value for money.

Online car sites are good because the prices on the cars tend to fixed in place, and there is actually nothing stopping you picking up the phone and ringing the owners of the car to see if you can make them an offer. Plenty of people will tell you that the price advertised is the price it must sell for, but there will be some people out there who are open to offers, and you never know, you might get lucky!

The best place to find second hand motors

I have always bought my second hand cars from auctions in the past. I wouldn’t say that this has been a disaster for me, but I do have to say that it is a hit and miss way to buy. You tend to get a pretty cheap price for what you are buying, but you also run the risk of buying an absolute dog! You never get the chance to test drive the car, all you see is it being driven past you in the lot! I’ve probably averaged one good one and then one bad one, and I actually quite enjoy buying this way, but now that I have a bit more cash, it would be nice to land something that is a bit smarter, and gives me a bit more confidence in terms of it not falling to pieces!

I decided to have a look online for some 2nd hand cars and I immediately came across something that I thought looked to be the perfect buy. It was a golf tdi which had less than 100,000 miles on the clock for less than £2000! Full service history and it was only eight years old.

I was pleased to be able to buy something that should at least in theory offer me a decent driving experience and good reliability too. Of course this time I would be able to test drive the car and actually know, for the first time ever, what the car would be like to drive before I bought it!

A Great Bargain Online

A few weeks ago my car packed up. It was one of those unfortunate incidences where I went on a long journey without properly giving the car a service before I set off. It was a stupid oversight ad because I hadn’t topped up the oil in such a long time, the head gasket ended up being warped. The repair price for this was about £800 and the car itself was probably worth less! I bit the bullet and decided that the only good thing for that car was the scrap yard!

That meant of course finding a new car. I started to have a look around online for something that would get me about economically which didn’t cost the earth to buy. I searched online for used cars for sale and I came across a great site. On the site, I was able to search for second hand cars from all over the country and I could also look by price as well. I used to site to narrow my search down to my local area and diesel cars, and about one hundred cars came up which were within my price range!

Out of all these cars there were one or two which really grabbed me. I had wanted an audi for as long as I could remember and there was a nice looking A 4 diesel estate which was only £750. It had done quite a few miles but all the service history was there and it looked to be in good condition! Once I saw the car I made an offer on the spot, and my motoring dilemma was over!
